What is Microfiber

2026.08.27

Microfiber, also known as micro‑denier fiber or ultra‑fine fiber, is mainly composed of polyester and polyamide (the domestic common formula is 80% polyester and 20% polyamide).

The denier of ordinary chemical fibers is mostly between 1.11 and 15 denier, with a diameter of about 10‑50 micrometers. The denier of typical microfiber ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 denier and its diameter is less than 5 micrometers. Its fineness is 1/200 of a human hair and 1/20 of ordinary chemical fiber. It has 5 times the tensile strength of conventional fibers and a service life more than 4 times that of ordinary towels.

Its adsorption capacity, water‑absorbing speed and water absorption capacity are 7 times those of ordinary fibers, and it features quick‑drying performance.
